SEWARD, Neb. – After pacing Concordia University Men’s Golf at last week’s Bethel Spring Invitational, Jake Hagerbaumer has been named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday (April 6). Hagerbaumer is the first Bulldog golfer to garner the conference weekly award during the 2021-22 season. He is the program’s first GPAC Golfer of the Week since Nolan Zikas was honored on Sept. 19, 2018.
A native of Hooper, Neb., Hagerbaumer notched his second top 10 tournament place finish of the season while tying for seventh out of 65 competitors at the Bethel Invite. Hagerbaumer shot a two-round score of 72-72–144 (+1) and placed seven strokes behind the tournament champion. With the two 72s, Hagerbaumer was two strokes shy of his collegiate career low of 70 at the Siouxland Invite back in the fall. Over eight events (16 rounds) during the 2021-22 campaign, Hagerbaumer has shot an average of 77.9. Hagerbaumer came to Head Coach Brett Muller’s program this past fall via Logan View High School.
Hagerbaumer and the Bulldogs will return to action next Monday and Tuesday (April 11-12) at the Hastings Bronco Invite, which will be held at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Neb.
