GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The 2025-26 season has resumed for Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf. On day one (March 9) of two at the Maverick Desert Classic hosted by Minnesota State University, the Bulldogs shot a team score of 310 while led by senior Jake Richmond. Seven golfers made the trip to represent Concordia at picturesque Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. The field, heavy on NCAA Division II institutions, includes 13 total team groupings and 86 individual players.

The Desert Classic marks the sixth varsity event of the campaign for Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad. Currently in 12th place, the Bulldogs will attempt to move up the ladder when action resumes on Tuesday.

The Elkhorn, Neb., native Richmond carried the team’s lowest scoring average (77.3) during 13 fall rounds and has started strong this spring. He shot two-over-par 74 on Monday, putting him in 28th place halfway through the tournament. Richmond shot even (36) on the back nine.

Four of Richmond’s teammates also shot scores in the 70s: freshmen Tyler Weismann (78), Logan Krabbenhoft (79) and Calvin Zabloudil (79) and senior Brock Rogers (78). Meanwhile, juniors Jude Elgert and Jacob Dowd both turned in 83s. Back in October, Zabloudil finished the fall portion of the schedule by placing in the top 10 at the Nebraska Intercollegiate.

NCAA D2 Washburn University (Kan.) shot 279 on Monday and leads the field. Concordia sits within striking distance of the likes of Minot State University (N.D.) (303) and two groupings from Augustana University (S.D.) (304 / 306).
