State bragging rights on the line at Nebraska Intercollegiate

SEWARD, Neb. – State bragging rights will be on the line this weekend (Oct. 4-5) as the Concordia University Golf programs gear up for their final tournament of the fall season. The annual Nebraska Intercollegiate will be staged at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Neb., where golfers from 12 Nebraska institutions will convene. The format of the tournament will be 18 holes of action on both days.

On the men’s side, Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad has competed in four official varsity tournaments this fall. The Bulldogs placed fifth out of 15 at the Mount Marty Invite, eighth out of 16 at the Blue River Classic, 12th out of 18 at the Siouxland Invite and ninth out of 10 at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate. The team’s 18-hole season average stands at 306.3. Senior Justin Webert leads the team with a season scoring average of 76.0. He will be followed in the lineup at the Nebraska Intercollegiate by Jake Hagerbaumer (76.4), Jake Richmond (77.1), Brock Rogers (78.8) and Gavin Buttshaw (79.3). The Concordia men placed seventh at the 2023 Nebraska Intercollegiate.

On the women’s side, the Bulldogs have played in three official varsity tournaments so far this 2024-25 season. Concordia placed ninth out of 13 at the Mount Marty Invite, eighth out of eight at the Battle at Bayside and eighth out of nine at the Siouxland Invite. As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging a score of 355.8. Returning All-GPAC performer Emery Custer leads the way individually with her average round of 82.8. The junior Custer will be joined in this weekend’s lineup by Jennifer Gillotti (90.0), Maddie Lewis (91.2), Savannah McFalls (94.2) and Sarah Wilson (95.4). The Concordia women placed fifth at the 2023 Nebraska Intercollegiate.

Both Bulldog squads will resume the 2024-25 seasons in the spring. The spring schedules are yet to be announced.
