SEWARD, Neb. – For their efforts at the 2021-22 GPAC Championships, Ivan Yabut and Drew D’Ercole have officially been honored as all-conference performers. Yabut secured All-GPAC accolades with a fifth-place conference finish while D’Ercole was chosen by league coaches as an honorable mention selection. The All-GPAC men’s golf teams were released by the league on Friday (May 13).
Yabut owns the distinction of having placed higher at the GPAC Championships than any other player in Concordia University Men’s golf history. His tie for fifth in the conference came courtesy of a three-round total of 71-74-74–219. The Omaha native and Burke High School alum finished three strokes out of first place. During the 2021-22 season as a whole, Yabut paced the Bulldogs with a scoring average of 74.9 over nine events (19 rounds). Yabut placed inside the top five of four tournaments and inside the top 10 in five events. Back in the fall, Yabut broke the program’s 18-hole record when he shot a seven-under-par 65 at the Siouxland Invite. Yabut moved up to fifth in the GPAC this season after placing 31st in 2020-21. Yabut owns a career scoring average of 77.3 in 35 rounds.
Also an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, D’Ercole has garnered honorable mention all-conference status for the second year in a row. The Papillion, Neb., native and Papillion La-Vista South High School alum placed in a tie for 34th in the GPAC in 2021-22 with a three-round score of 77-82-78–237. The year prior, D’Ercole finished 21st in the conference. His 2021-22 season featured three top-10 tournament placements and a scoring average of 75.8. D’Ercole’s season low was a 71 on three separate occasions. In 46 career collegiate rounds, D’Ercole sports an 18-hole average of 77.2.
