YANKTON, S.D. – The opening day of the 2026-27 season was an encouraging one for Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf. Spurred by tournament co-leader Calvin Zabloudil, the Bulldogs reside in third place at the conclusion of day one of the Mount Marty Invite. Monday (Aug. 31)’s round was contested at Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton, S.D., where 74 golfers from eight institutions (14 total team groupings) navigated the course.
The event marks the beginning of Head Coach Brett Muller’s 16th season. The team score for Concordia ‘A’ settled at 301 on Monday, placing it behind Morningside (293) and Dordt (298) atop the leaderboard.
A sophomore from Omaha, Zabloudil stands as the team’s top returner from a scoring average perspective. His two-under-par 70 marked his fourth career collegiate round of par or better. Heading into day two, Zabloudil shares first place with Morningside’s Owen Bruins. Five competitors shot 72 or lower in round one of the Mount Marty Invite.
Zabloudil and company hope to cut down the team scoring average of 314.6 from last season. He was followed in the Bulldog ‘A’ lineup on Monday by senior Jude Elgert (76; T-14th), sophomore Tyler Weismann (76; T-14th), freshman Wyatt Groves (79; T-30th) and sophomore Michael Koenig (98; 72nd).
In leading the ‘B’ team, sophomore Logan Krabbenhoft also carded a 76, meaning four Bulldogs currently hold down top 15 placements on the tournament leaderboard. Krabbenhoft was followed in the B lineup by senior Jacob Dowd (78; T-23rd), sophomores Kamden Zomer (80; T-34th) and Charlie Summy (82; T-46th) and freshman Dalton Kumm (83; T-53rd).
The Mount Marty Invite will resume with round two teeing off at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday from Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. Live scoring can be found via the Golf Genius app.
