Concordia men golfers open season at Dordt Invitational

The Concordia men’s golf team opened the fall golf schedule with a 14th place finish at the Dordt Invitational on Thursday. Dakota Wesleyan took home first place in the event with a 294, and Sioux Falls finished second with a 300. Wayne State (303), Dordt College (304) and Morningside College (308) rounded out the top five.
Individually for Concordia, John Zilm finished in a tie for 43rd with an 81 on the day, and Michael Tewes finished in a tie for 56th with a score of 84. Other Concordia finishers included Logan Waggy with an 85, Nick Milberger with an 89 and Brian McCoy with a 90.
The next meet for the Concordia men will be Sept. 17 when the Bulldogs play in the GPAC Qualifier in Orange City, Iowa.
Bulldogs tie for eighth at GPAC Qualifier

The Concordia men’s golf team tied for eighth place at the first GPAC Qualifier held in Iowa on Thursday. The Bulldogs shot a 322 on the day.
Nebraska Wesleyan and Morningside College tied for first with a score of 293 on the day. Dakota Wesleyan and Northwestern College tied for third with a 296, Briar Cliff was fifth with a 301 and Hastings College was sixth with a 302. Sioux Falls (312) was seventh, while Concordia and Dordt College tied for eighth place. Dana College (324), Doane College (330), Midland Lutheran (363) and Mount Marty College (366) rounded out the team scoring.
John Zilm finished in 14th with a team-best 75 (38-37) to lead Concordia. Logan Waggy tied for 33rd with a 79, and Pat Meyer tied for 42nd with an 83. Ryan Dauss and Michael Tewes finished in a tie for 47th with a score of 85 on the day.
The Bulldogs will compete at the Southern Hills/Lochland Invite on Sept. 21.

Concordia men finish fourth at Hastings College Invite

The Concordia University men’s golf team placed fourth at the Hastings College Fall Invite on Sept. 21. The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 664.
Eight total teams participated, and Dakota Wesleyan University won the invitational with a score of 597. Hastings College (598) was second, Dana College (663) was third and Central Community College (665) finished behind Concordia in fifth place.
John Zilm was the top individual finisher for the Bulldogs. Zilm tied for ninth overall with a score of 154 (74-80). Logan Waggy tied for 25th with a 164 (80-84). Other top finishers for Concordia were Blake Miller in a tie for 41st with a 173 (92-81), Patrick Meyer in 45th with a 175 (85-90) and Nick Milberger in 47th with a 181 (90-91).
Concordia will compete at the Doane Invitational on Sept. 28-29 in Lincoln.
Bulldogs finish fifth at Doane College Invite

The Concordia University golf teams participated in the Doane College Invite on Monday and Tuesday. The men’s team placed fifth out of nine teams.
Northwestern College finished first on the men’s side with a team score of 643. Morningside College was second with a 661, and Briar Cliff University was third with a 671. Doane College came in fourth with a 677, and Concordia was fifth with a 688. Hastings College placed sixth with a 696, Dana College was seventh with a 716, Doane College B was eighth with a 732 and Union College finished in ninth with an 805.
John Zilm was the top finisher for the Concordia men. Zilm finished in eighth place overall with a two-day total of 164. Logan Waggy tied for 23rd with a 173, Ryan Dauss tied for 25th with a 174 and Blake Miller finished in a tie for 33rd with a 181.
The Bulldog men will take part in their second GPAC Qualifier in Fremont on Oct. 6.
Concordia finishes 10th at GPAC Qualifier No. 2

The Concordia University men’s golf team finished 10th place at the second GPAC Qualifier held on Tuesday. The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 369 on the day. On a cold and windy day, only four total players finished with a score below 80.
Morningside finished in first with a score of 312, and Sioux Falls finished in second with a 328. Nebraska Wesleyan was third with a 332, Dakota Wesleyan was fourth with a 336 and Northwestern College rounded out the top five with a 341. Briar Cliff was sixth with a 345, Hastings College was close behind in seventh with a 348 and Dordt College was eighth with a 359. Dana College finished just in front of Concordia in ninth with a 362. Concordia was 10th, while Doane College (374) and Mount Marty College (410) completed the team scoring.
Individually for Concordia, John Zilm and Logan Waggy tied for 29th with an 89. Blake Miller tied for 45th with a 93, Ryan Dauss tied for 51st with a 98 and Michael Tewes tied for 54th with a 101.
Bulldogs take part in Hastings College Spring Invite

The Concordia University men’s golf team placed eighth at the Hastings College Spring Invitational on March 29. The Bulldogs posted a team score of 349 in the meet. Southeast Community College won the meet with a score of 309.
Individually for the Bulldogs, Blake Miller shot an 82 (42-40) to finish in a tie for 25th overall. Logan Waggy finished in 42nd place with an 87 (45-42). Nicholas Milberger tied for 46th with an 89 (44-45), and Pat Meyer was 48th with a 91 (41-50). Michael Tewes finished with a score of 94 (44-50) on the day.
Concordia finishes 11th in third GPAC Qualifier

Nebraska Wesleyan held the third men’s GPAC Qualifier on Monday in Lincoln. Concordia finished in 11th place with a score of 367. Through three events, the Bulldogs are 11th with an overall score of 1,058.
Logan Waggy finished in a tie for 32nd with a score of 85 on the day. Nicholas Milberger was tied for 38th with an 87 for the Bulldogs.
Concordia places ninth at Dana Invite

The Concordia University men’s golf team placed ninth at the Dana Invite on Tuesday. The Bulldogs finished with a score of 320 on the day. The University of Sioux Falls won the meet with a 294.
Logan Waggy was the top finisher for the Bulldogs and was the only Concordia player to finish in the top 20. Waggy finished in a tie for 19th with a score of 77 (36-41). Blake Miller (39-42), Patrick Meyer (41-40) and Michael Tewes (39-42) all tied for 38th with an 81. Aaron Hedlund finished with a 98 (47-51) for the Bulldogs.
Concordia will conclude the season in the fourth GPAC Qualifier on May 4.
