Concordia men finish 17th at Bethel Invite
The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2011-12 schedule with a 17th place finish at the Bethel Invite on Sunday, April 1 in Bethel, Kan. The Bulldogs final tourament score was 659 (+87).
Junior Caleb Davison (Davenport, Iowa) led Concordia with a 28th place finish overall at 155. Seniors Matt Dauss (Anderson, Ind.) and Logan Waggy (Cheney, Kan.) posted scores of 166 and 167 respectively to tie for 68th and 76th.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, April 13 as Concordia plays in the Blue River Invite in Crete, Neb.
Concordia men's team finish 11th at Midland Invite
The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's golf team placed 11th at the Midland Invite on Monday, April 9. The Bulldogs combined team score was 344, while Southeast Community College won the event with a 308 finish.
Concordia senior Logan Waggy led the Bulldogs as he finished the day with an 80 (+9) to tie for 23rd. Waggy had 39 on the front nine, then closed the round with a 41 on the back nine.
The overall individual tournament winner was Calvin Freeman of Southeast CC. Freeman finished the course at 73 (+2) for a one-stroke win.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, April 13 as Concordia begins play in the two-day Blue River Classic. The event is scheduled to be played in Crete, Neb. on Friday, April 13 and in Seward, Neb. on Saturday, April 14.

Concordia sits in second after first day of Blue River Invite
The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's golf team is currently in second place after the first day of action at the Blue River Invite in Crete, Neb. on Friday, April 13. The Bulldogs finished the first round of the two-day tournament with a team score of 317 (+29). Doane leads the tournament with a five-over 293.
Freshman Shawn Rodehorst (Kearney, Neb.) fired the best round of the day for Concordia, shooting a 76 (+4) to sit in fifth place.
The Blue River Invite moves to Seward on Saturday, April 14 for the final round of action as the Bulldogs host the final day of action in Seward, Neb. at the Seward Country Club.

Blue River Invite shortened to 27 holes
The Bulldogs finished second in a shortened Blue River Invite on Saturday, April 14. The Blue River Invite, hosted by Concordia University, Nebraska, was shortened to just nine-holes Saturday due to severe weather in the Seward area.
The tournament as a whole was 27 holes, with the first 18 being played in Crete, Neb. on Friday, April 13.
Concordia finished the tournament with a team score of 471.
Doane won the two-day tournament with a combined score of 439.
The Individual tournament victory went to Doane's Tyler Vacek, who posted a 34 on Saturday and finished the tournament with a 108.
Concordia's best performance came from freshman Shawn Rodehorst (Kearney, Neb.), who posted a 36 on Saturday and a 112 overall to finish 5th.
The Bulldogs return to action on Monday, April 23 in the GPAC Qualifier #3 in Fremont, Neb.
Bulldog men's team places seventh at GPAC Qualifier #3
The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's golf team placed seventh at the GPAC Qualifier #3 in Fremont, Neb. on Monday, April 23.
The GPAC Qualifier is a four-round tournament played throughout the 2011-12 season at four differing sights. Monday's round in Fremont, Neb. was the third round. The first round was in Yankton, S.D. at The Fox Run golf course on Sept. 13. Round two was held on Oct. 6 at Lochland CC in Hastings, Neb. The final round of action is scheduled for May 7 in Mitchell, S.D. and will be hosted by Morningside College.
The Bulldogs finished with a combined scored of 316, led by a 75 from senior Logan Waggy (Cheney, Kan.). Waggy finished tied for 11th. Freshman Shawn Rodehorst (Kearney, Neb.) finished the round with a 78 to finish in a tie for 19th.
Concordia concludes its regular season on Monday, May 7 in the GPAC Qualifier #4 in Mitchell, S.D.

Bulldogs head into final GPAC Qualifier in seventh
Heading into the final round of the GPAC Qualifier on April 27, the Concordia University, Nebraska, men's golf team sits in seventh place overall.

Nebraska Wesleyan continues to lead the GPAC men's tournament after posting a low round of 291 on Monday afternoon in Fremont. The Prairie Wolves hold a 12-stroke lead heading into the final round of play on May 7 in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Ryan Kiewiet of Northwestern College is the clubhouse leader after three rounds with a 221, +6. He holds a one-shot lead over Drew Taylor of Nebraska Wesleyan and Brandon Thompson of Morningside College.
Concordia finishes GPAC Qualifier #4 in tenth, places eighth overall at GPAC Men’s Championship
The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's golf team wrapped up the 2012 season with a tenth place finish at the GPAC Qualifier #4 in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Monday, May 7.
Concordia posted a combined score of 345 on Monday, while Northwestern College (IA) won the event with a team score of 305. Freshman Shawn Rodehorst (Kearney, Neb.) led Concordia with an 83 to finish in a tie for 18th place.
The GPAC Men's Championships is a four-round tournament played throughout the 2011-12 season at four differing sites. Monday's round in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the Prairie Green Country Club was the final round. Each round was titled a Qualifier, GPAC Qualifier #4. The first round was in Yankton, S.D. at The Fox Run golf course on Sept. 13. Round two was held on Oct. 6 at Lochland CC in Hastings, Neb., while the third round was in Fremont, Neb. at the Fremont Country Club.
Concordia finished the four round GPAC Championships in eighth placed with a combined score of 1,307. Northwestern College won the overall championship with a combined score of 1,217. The individual championship was claimed by Morningside College's Brandon Thompson with a score of 296 (+9). Thompson was three shots better than Northwestern's Ryan Kiewiet who finished with 299 (+12).
Rodehorst was the best overall Concordia performer, finishing in a tie for 20th at 320 (+33). Senior Logan Waggy (Cheney, Kan.) posted a combined score of 325 (+38), while junior Caleb Davison (Davenport, Iowa) placed 33rd with a 332 (+45).

Five Bulldogs named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes
Five members of the Concordia University, Nebraska, golf program showed excellence in the classroom earning a spot on the 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete list, announced on Thursday, May 24.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
