Round four of the GPAC Men's Golf Championship got wiped out by high winds, meaning the results were final after 54 holes. The Bulldogs placed sixth as a team behind fifth-place individual finisher Ivan Yabut.
With three of four rounds complete at the conference championships, Concordia Men's Golf resides in sixth place behind Ivan Yabut. The Omaha native is three shots out of first place entering the final day of action in Vermillion, S.D.
Rounds three and four of the 2021-22 GPAC Men's Golf Championships are coming up Friday and Saturday from Vermillion, S.D. The Bulldogs are currently in sixth place as a team. Concordia shot 298-308–606 in the fall.
Ivan Yabut made a title push at the Hastings Invite while tying for first (lost playoff hole). He paced a Bulldog team that wound up in fifth place overall at the two-day (April 11-12) tournament at Lochland Country Club.
A fine first day of the Hastings Invite saw the Bulldogs shoot a 301 (third place) while being led by Ivan Yabut's one-under-par 71. Yabut will enter day two tied for first place. Teammate Justin Webert is just one stroke back.
A seventh-place finish at the Bethel Spring Invite resulted in Jake Hagerbaumer being named the GPAC Golfer of the Week. The native of Hooper, Neb., shot a two-round total of 72-72–144 (+1) at the event.
With the help of a top 10 finish individually by Jake Hagerbaumer, Concordia Men's Golf moved from fifth to third in the final standings at the Bethel Invite. The Bulldogs carded a two-day total of 292-299–591 while in Kansas.
With one round complete at the Bethel College Invite, the Bulldog 'A' grouping resides in fifth place after carding a team score of 292 on Saturday (April 2). The top individuals for Concordia were Jake Hagerbaumer and Ivan Yabut.
Consistent standouts at the top of the lineup, Drew D'Ercole and Ivan Yabut paced the Bulldogs at the Doane Spring Invite with top 10 finishes. As a group, the Concordia 'A' team placed fourth with a two-round score of 326-304–630.
In the annual rivalry matchup between Concordia Men’s Golf and Doane, the Tigers got the upper hand on Saturday (March 19), winning the match, 15.5 to 14.5. The unique event features both singles and doubles matches.
