SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Soccer program will begin its season by receiving votes (RV) in the 2023 NAIA preseason poll. The league office announced the Bulldogs received 27 votes on Wednesday (Aug. 16) which eclipses their highest total in the 2022 season with 11 on Oct. 26.
Looking to break into the top 25 for the first time in program history, head coach Jason Weides will have had five teams receiving votes as they step onto the field since the 2015 season.
The Bulldogs won the 2022 GPAC tournament championship getting a berth into the NAIA national tournament for the first time since 2015 and the second time under Weides. Individually, Concordia returns four second-team All-GPAC players with Martin Herrera, Matt Schultz, Isaiah Shaddick and Ryan Wokutch.
Hastings starts their 2023 season as the 22nd ranked team and the only other GPAC squad mentioned in the 2023 NAIA preseason poll.
