Concordia suffers 2-0 loss at Dakota Wesleyan

The Bulldog men’s soccer team dropped its second straight GPAC contest with a 2-0 loss at Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday.  The host Tigers improved to 4-5 overall with a 2-1 record in the GPAC.  Concordia, who received votes in last week’s NAIA Top 25 Poll, dropped to 6-3-1 overall and 1-2 in the GPAC.  

Hugo Gonzalez scored to in the 25th minute to put Dakota Wesleyan on top.  The score remained the same until the 65th minute, when Eric Moller added an insurance goal for the Tigers.  Eric Christianson was credited with the assist on DWU’s second goal of the game.  

Each team finished with 12 shots in the contest, but Concordia managed just four shots on goal.  Brendan Buchanan (Broomfield, Colo.) made five saves but suffered the loss in net for the Bulldogs.  Jordan Werner made four saves and picked up the shutout for Dakota Wesleyan.  

Concordia will step out of conference play when they travel to York College on October 4.
