SEWARD, Neb. – The league office announced Florian Quast as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 22). Quast earned the honor with a 2-0 shutout win over Dordt last week. The goalkeeper was awarded the first honor garnered by a Bulldog this season.
Quast, a first-year transfer from Milligan University (Tenn.), punched out four saves in the clean sheet over the Defenders. The Hochheim, Germany, native has scored two blank cards against opposing offenses, with the first coming from in-state Bellevue (2-0). He grabbed five saves in the contest.
The 6-foot-7 protector of the net has guarded the posts for 405 minutes with a 1.56 goals allowed average. Quast has 22 saves and a .759 save percentage.
The Bulldogs will be back on the pitch on Wednesday (Sept. 23) in Crete, Neb., against the Doane Tigers.
