Warriors up next on Bulldogs’ postseason slate

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia men’s soccer team will face second seeded Midland University in the semifinal round of the GPAC Tournament. The contest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in Fremont, Neb. A webcast for the match will be available HERE

The sixth seeded Bulldogs (10-6-2) advanced to semifinals after defeating third seeded Northwestern College on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in Orange City. The second half goal from senior Sean Doran gave CUNE a 1-0 win over the Red Raiders.

(RV) Midland University (14-4-1) defeated Dakota Wesleyan in the quarterfinals, 2-1 on Tuesday night. The two goals came from Tom Sibbald and Harrison Rogers, both in the second half of play.

In the last meeting of the Bulldogs and Warriors, CUNE found itself on the losing end of the tilt, despite a 17-10 shot advantage. Midland outscored the ‘Dogs, 3-1 at Bulldog Stadium. Kevin Andrade scored the equalizer in the first half but the Warriors quickly struck back two minutes later to make the halftime score 2-1 in the Warriors’ favor. A third goal in the second frame for MU sealed the deal.

As a team in the GPAC, the Bulldog squad leads in shots on goal per game (9.44), ranks second in shots per game (19.28) and total shutouts (7) and is tied for fourth in goals allowed per game (1.28).

The next round of the GPAC Tournament will be the championship match played Thursday, Nov. 12. A full schedule of remaining games is listed below.
