Bulldogs place 11 on NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete list

Concordia University's softball team placed 11 athletes on the 2010-11 NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete list that was released on Tuesday.  Sam Lafontaine, Angela Harstad, Clarissa Eloge, Nicole Baker, Amanda Beeson, Nicole Sempek, Nicole Mapes, Megan Osladil, Mikaela Klein, Gretchen Woebbecke and Ashli Ellis all earned the honor.   

The award is given to any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2010-11 academic year.  The award is the second component of the Association’s academic award program.  Earlier this month, Concordia was recognized on the NFCA Scholar Teams list.  The Bulldogs finished seventh in the NAIA with a 3.484 team GPA.  Mount Marty College was the only other Great Plains Athletic Conference school to crack the top 10.  

Concordia finished last season with a 27-17 overall record.
