Concordia earns NFCA All-Academic Team honor
Bulldogs finish seventh in NAIA
The NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) released its 2011 Top 10 All-Academic Teams on Wednesday. Concordia University finished seventh in the NAIA with a 3.484 team GPA. Mount Marty College was the only other Great Plains Athletic Conference school to crack the top 10.
“This is an outstanding achievement for our team and University,” remarked Frank Greene, head coach of the Bulldogs. “I’m very proud of my players. We will continue to strive for excellence in academics and athletics at Concordia University.”
The NFCA Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted GPAs for the 2010-11 academic year. As a second component of the program, all submitted student-athletes who achieved a 3.50 GPA during the last academic year are named as NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. The individual honorees will be announced on October 5.
Concordia finished the 2011 season with a 27-17 record. The Bulldogs were 14-8 in conference play last year.
