Two games that were in doubt for all seven innings resulted in one win and one loss for Concordia as it went up against former GPAC rival Nebraska Wesleyan. Camry Moore fired a four-hit shutout in game one.
A hectic week features eight games, including senior day on Saturday when the Bulldogs will host Dakota Wesleyan. Concordia will also be at Nebraska Wesleyan and take on Jamestown as part of the busy stretch.
Camry Moore is leaving no doubt that she's truly one of the elite pitchers in the GPAC. She fired a four-hit shutout on Monday (April 4) as the Bulldogs split a conference twin bill with College of Saint Mary.
Kylie Shottenkirk picked the perfect spot for her first career home run. A three-run smash in the sixth inning of game one carried the Bulldogs to a 3-1 win. Northwestern responded by taking the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
The powerful swings of Zoie Isom and the precision pitching of Camry Moore resulted in a doubleheader sweep of Doane on Tuesday (March 29). Isom belted a grand slam as the Bulldogs won by scores of 6-1 and 13-5.
Conference play will heat up over the next two weeks. The Bulldogs are getting set to host Doane for a doubleheader on Tuesday before heading to Northwestern on Saturday. Concordia stands at 12-12 overall (1-3 GPAC).
Concordia Softball and College of Saint Mary have postponed the scheduled meeting on Sunday (March 27) due to cold temperatures in the forecast. The makeup date is set for Monday, April 4.

Due to inclement weather, the home opener for Concordia Softball has been postponed. The Bulldogs are now scheduled to host Dordt on Saturday and College of Saint Mary on Sunday with doubleheaders beginning at 1 p.m. both days.

A 17-game fall exhibition slate did nothing to dampen the spirits of a Concordia University softball program coming off back-to-back appearances at the NAIA national tournament. If anything, it only whetted appetites for spring 2016.
In 2014 then first-year head coach Todd LaVelle guided the Concordia University softball team to its first-ever national tournament appearance. A year later the Bulldogs captured the program’s first-ever win on the national stage.
For the second time in program history, and for the first time since 2007, the Concordia University softball team has earned the distinction of GPAC tournament champion.
