The varsity softball doubleheader vs. Hastings that was scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed due to wet field conditions. A makeup date is to be determined.
The Bulldogs hope the weather improves in time to host Hastings on Wednesday and Northwestern on Saturday for the start of conference play. Concordia last played on March 11.
Idle since ending its spring break trip on March 11, the Concordia Softball team will wait a bit longer to return to action. The doubleheader at Kansas Wesleyan scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
In the final leg of the spring break road trip, the Bulldogs waited until the late innings to strike while defeating both Friends and Presentation in McPherson, Kan. Concordia is 14-2 overall.
Camry Moore earned two wins in the circle and Julia Van Wey came through in the clutch as the Bulldogs (12-2) earned a doubleheader sweep of Oklahoma Wesleyan on Wednesday (March 10).
Zoe Flores stymied the Oklahoma City offense and Concordia piled up 13 hits in a 10-7 upset of the fourth-ranked Stars in game 2. OCU took the first game by a score of 4-2.
In the Sunday (March 7) action, the Bulldogs totaled a combined 22 runs on 21 hits and nine walks while parading around the bases in wins over Friends and Dakota State.
After letting a 3-0 lead slip away in Saturday's first game, the Bulldogs regrouped with a 9-0 run-rule victory over Bethel to close the day. Jenessa Jarvis homered and drove in three runs in the win.
A busy stretch of games over spring break got started on Friday (March 5) as the Bulldogs won two games over nonconference opponents. Concordia is taking part in the Friends Invitational.
Stop No. 1 on the spring break journey will be Wichita, Kan., for the Friends University Invitational (March 5-7). The Bulldogs will play twice each day Friday through Sunday.
