A half a dozen Bulldogs from the softball program picked up accolades on Saturday (June 22) when the Omaha World-Herald announced its All-Nebraska team. Three were also first team All-GPAC choices.
The Concordia softball program placed six student-athletes on the list of 2019 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced on Tuesday (May 28). May graduate Maddie Fousek is now a two-time Scholar-Athlete.
The 2019 Bulldogs won 70 percent of their games and placed third in the GPAC. It was a positive step in the first season of head coach Shawn Semler's tenure. Concordia hopes it's just a start.
Five Bulldogs represented the Concordia softball program on the all-conference teams announced on Wednesday (May 8) by the GPAC. Hhana Haro, Tori Homolka and Brittany Woolridge were all named first team.
The Bulldogs rallied for a walk-off win to keep their season alive in the opening game on Friday (May 3), but they just could not figure out a way to beat Morningside. The season ended with a GPAC tournament defeat.

GPAC tournament action is coming up next for the Bulldogs, who are the third seed in the bracket. Concordia hopes to make a run at its first national tournament appearance since 2015.
Camry Moore did it all in game one and then Tori Homolka ended the regular season finale with a loud bang as part of a doubleheader sweep over Dordt on Saturday (April 27). It was senior day for the Bulldogs.
Leave it to GPAC Player of the Year Hhana Haro to light a spark in the Bulldogs. She boosted the team's spirits after a rough game one by hitting two homers in game two for a split versus CSM on Wednesday (April 24).
The Crete duo of Camry Moore and MacKinsey Schmidt played a large role in a 10-2 game one win over Northwestern on Tuesday (April 23). The Bulldogs then dropped game two, 2-1.
Winding paths led Kylie Harpst and Taylor Huff, former Lincoln North Star teammates, to Concordia to reunite with head coach Todd LaVelle.
A 17-game fall exhibition slate did nothing to dampen the spirits of a Concordia University softball program coming off back-to-back appearances at the NAIA national tournament. If anything, it only whetted appetites for spring 2016.
In 2014 then first-year head coach Todd LaVelle guided the Concordia University softball team to its first-ever national tournament appearance. A year later the Bulldogs captured the program’s first-ever win on the national stage.
For the second time in program history, and for the first time since 2007, the Concordia University softball team has earned the distinction of GPAC tournament champion.
