The Bulldogs are hoping weather will cooperate on Thursday for a home GPAC doubleheader with Hastings. Concordia is also scheduled to head to Morningside for two games on Saturday.
Despite a 6-for-8 performance that included a pair of home runs by freshman Hhana Haro, the Bulldogs dropped a pair of one-run games at Northwestern on Wednesday (March 28). Haro leads the GPAC in batting average.
Concordia's potent offense will be put to the test by Northwestern's stellar pitching staff in Thursday's GPAC doubleheader. Due to inclement weather, the Bulldogs have played only once since March 14.
The scheduled Saturday (March 24) doubleheader between Concordia and Briar Cliff has been postponed. A makeup date has yet to be determined.
Crete natives Jamie Lefebure and Mackinsey Schmidt both collected five hits before play was suspended Thursday night (March 22) at Doane. The Bulldogs led game two, 11-6, after dropping the first, 8-6, in eight innings.
The start of conference play keeps getting pushed back, but the Bulldogs will try again on Thursday with a doubleheader at Doane. Concordia will also host Briar Cliff on Saturday.
It's been a busy start to the week for the Bulldogs who split mid-week doubleheaders with the University of Saint Mary and Nebraska Wesleyan. The Bulldogs stand at 11-9 overall.
The Bulldog softball team finished strong at the Tucson Invite, winning six of its final seven games. Hhana Haro pounded out six hits while helping Concordia to wins over Olivet Nazarene and Presentation on Friday.
Concordia put together two separate 19-run performances in a 2-1 day at the Tucson Invitational on Thursday (March 8). The Bulldogs exploded for seven runs in the eighth inning of a 19-12 win over Saint Xavier.
Over a stretch of just over 24 hours, Concordia went 3-2 during action at the Tucson Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (March 6-7). Concordia moved to 5-6 overall while following the lead of a potent lineup.
