Camry Moore struck out 10 hitters in a complete game and Regan Karel delivered a three-run homer as part of an 8-4 win at Doane on Wednesday (April 7). Game 2 was suspended.
In its first action since March 30, Concordia Softball will take on Doane and Midland in GPAC doubleheaders. The Bulldogs stand at 17-5 overall (3-3 GPAC).
Concordia had its chances in a 4-3 game 1 loss in Tuesday (March 30)'s doubleheader with 16th-ranked Morningside. The Bulldogs were flattened, 14-1, in game 2.
A strong start to conference play led to Tori Homolka being named the GPAC Player of the Week. She went 6-for-12 with a double, two home runs and eight RBIs for the week.
In a clash between the two top rated teams in the GPAC, Concordia will host 16th-ranked Morningside on Tuesday. First pitch from Plum Creek Park is set for 5 p.m. CT.
On a blustery, chilly spring day, the Bulldogs finally made their return to Plum Creek Park. Concordia walked off with a 4-3 win in game 1 before suffering a 7-1 loss in game 2 vs. Northwestern.
In its first action in two weeks, the Concordia Softball team showed no rust in a pair of blowout wins at Hastings on Thursday (March 25). The Bulldogs went deep five times.
The varsity softball doubleheader vs. Hastings that was scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed due to wet field conditions. A makeup date is to be determined.
The Bulldogs hope the weather improves in time to host Hastings on Wednesday and Northwestern on Saturday for the start of conference play. Concordia last played on March 11.
