CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Teams
SEWARD, Neb. – For the second year in a row, Joe Bindl has represented Concordia University Tennis with 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team distinction, as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (May 19). The “At-Large” category includes student-athletes from tennis and a variety of other intercollegiate sports.Bindl landed on the All-District 3 squad, which features award winners from the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Not only a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District award winner, Bindl has been named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and was recognized as a GPAC All-Conference honoree in both 2021 and 2022. Bindl graduated with his degree in Accounting while sporting a nearly spotless cumulative grade-point average of 3.99. As part of his tennis career, Bindl helped the Bulldogs reach the GPAC championship match in 2021 (first time ever) and then the conference semifinals in 2022. Over four seasons as a Bulldog, Bindl compiled career records of 24-17 in singles and 26-20 in doubles.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
