NAIA Academic All-District At-Large Teams
SEWARD, Neb. – Representing Concordia University Tennis, Joseph Bindl has been chosen as a 2020-21 Academic All-District® At-Large Team member. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the at-large honorees on Thursday (July 8). The category includes student-athletes from tennis and a variety of other sports. Bindl landed on the All-District 3 squad, which features award winners from the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Also an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, Bindl enjoyed an all-conference season in 2021 while helping the Bulldogs to GPAC runner up finishes in both the regular season and postseason. A native of Papillion, Neb., Bindl is studying accounting. This past season, he went 11-2 in singles matches and 2-1 in doubles decisions. Bindl is the second student-athlete in program history to earn the CoSIDA Academic All-District award. Luke Zoller garnered the same recognition in 2019.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August.
