Bulldogs downed by UNK Lopers in both men's and women's mataches

The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's and women's tennis programs each dropped a match to the University of Nebraska, Kearney, Lopers on Monday, April 16. The men's team fell, 1-8, while the women went down, 0-9.

Men's Tennis:
University of Nebraska, Kearney 8, Concordia 1 

The lost dropped the Bulldogs to 5-7 on the season, while the Lopers advanced to 15-8.

Playing at the No. 6 singles position, sophomore Michael McCartney (Davenport, Iowa) defeated UNK’s Paul Stachura in a 6-4, 5-7 tie breaker in which McCartney won by a score of 1-0 (10-7).  McCartney also won the most games for the bulldogs with a total of 12.  This match would be the only victory for the bulldogs.

Concordia returns to action on Thursday, April 19 as the men’s tennis team will host Nebraska Wesleyan beginning at 4 p.m. 

Women's Tennis:
University of Nebraska, Kearney 9, Concordia 0

The lost dropped the Bulldogs to 4-5, while UNK advance to 16-6 on the season. 

In the singles competition, playing at the No. 1 singles position, sophomore  Katelyn Koll (Wilber, Nebraska) challenged UNK’s Heather Connolly in a 6-4, 6-3 loss

Concordia returns to action on Wednesday, April 18 as the women’s tennis team host Nebraska Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
