Bulldogs face Midland in GPAC quarterfinals

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia men’s tennis team received the fifth seed in the GPAC Tournament. The Bulldogs will face fourth seed Midland University on Friday in Fremont, Neb.

The matchup
Earlier this season, the Bulldogs and Warriors faced off in Fremont. Midland took the slim victory, 5-4. The duo of Willy Pardos and Javier Moreno won Concordia’s only doubles match. The pair along with Gabriel Poling each won their singles matches.

Singles success
This season, the No. 1 singles and No. 5 singles each have a 12-6 record while the singles overall have a 40.7 winning percentage. Breakthrough freshman Willy Pardos has played 17 matches at the No. 1 position and went 11-6 during his rookie campaign. Also having a successful freshman season is Gabriel Poling who has posted an 11-6 singles record.

The champion of the tournament will advance to the NAIA Tennis Championship in Mobile, Ala. At the Mobile Tennis Center on May 17-21.
