LIBERTY, Mo. – Concordia went east stepping on the hard courts against William Jewell College (Mo.) on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 7). The Bulldogs would fight to compete with the division II opponents but were unable to win a match (0-7) against the Cardinals.

In doubles, No. 1s Hugo Fuentes and Santiago Abadia faced off against Julien Lafranchise and Max Quennery, giving up a single game break 4-6 set loss. Michael Bedrosian and Manuel Rodriguez matched up versus Ugnius Bickauskis and Caden Lingenfelser at No. 2s, as the Bulldogs couldn’t find their footing in a 2-6 set loss. Luke Johnson and Mitch Krumm, 1-0 as a pair this Fall (duals), fell (2-6) against No. 3s.
No. 6 Krumm gave a valiant effort versus Conley winning the most games (7) in singles for the Bulldogs, but dropped both sets (3-6, 4-6). Fuentes at No. 1 faced Bickauskis in a tough match before Hugo fell (3-6, 3-6) in his singles match. Bedrosian was matched up against Lingenfelser at No. 4, as he lost his first singles dual match (3-6, 2-6). This sealed the win for the Cardinals at Bennet Park.
Rodriguez at No. 3 was unsuccessful against Quennery (3-6, 1-6), and Abadia at No. 2 was defeated by Lafranchise (0-6, 3-6). No. 5 Luke Johnson finished the bout with a 1-6, 0-6 loss to Lewis.
This concludes the fall season for the Concordia men’s tennis squad, ending this season with a 0-2 dual record. Under her watch, new head coach Hart will look to build the program before getting back into action in the spring.
