LINCOLN, Neb. – The Concordia University Men’s Tennis team and its conference rivals met at Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb., this past Friday and Saturday (Sept. 17-18) for the GPAC Individual Tournament. The Bulldogs emerged from the tournament with eight advancements to at least the quarterfinal rounds in either singles or doubles. Among the highlights, Juan Rabellion finished as the C flight singles runner up and Isaac Howes and Eduardo Rojas placed as the A flight doubles runner up.
This was the first outing of the fall for Head Coach Cam Long’s men’s tennis program. The GPAC Individual Tournament featured both men’s and women’s brackets. Last season, the Concordia men placed second in the GPAC regular season standings and advanced to the GPAC tournament championship match.
Below is the summary of the top performances by Bulldogs at the GPAC Individual Tournament. Concordia players reached quarterfinal matches in three separate singles flights and two separate doubles flights. The team leader last season with 11 singles victories, Joe Bindl was a semifinalist in the B singles bracket.

B flight doubles: Joe Bindl/Shawn Springer reached the quarterfinals
The Bulldogs will return to action at the ITA Central Regional Championships this Friday through Sunday at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. Coming up yet this fall, Concordia will also take on Iowa Central Community College on Oct. 2 and William Jewell College (Mo.) on Oct. 9.
