LINCOLN, Neb. – Aiming for its sixth-straight GPAC title, Hastings proved too much for the Concordia University men’s tennis team on Tuesday evening in a match contested at the Abbott Sports Complex in Lincoln. The occasion marked the final match of the regular season for the Bulldogs, who fell at the hands of the Broncos by a 9-0 score.

Currently in third place in the conference, third-year head coach Joel Reckewey’s squad will enter postseason play at 9-11 overall (2-3 in the GPAC).

Even red hot Gabe Poling saw his six-match singles win streak come to an end on Tuesday. He was defeated by Tim Fischer, 6-1, 6-0. The Broncos did not lose a single set on the evening. The closest match came at No. 2 singles where Concordia’s Javier Moreno dropped a 7-5, 6-3, decision.

Next up for the Bulldogs will be the GPAC tournament, set to be held May 5-6 in Fremont, Neb. All six GPAC men’s tennis teams will compete at the event.
