Concordia men downed by Hastings, 9-0

The Concordia University, Nebraska, men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Hastings College on Thursday, April 26.

Following the loss, Concordia is 7-10 on the season and 2-3 in Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) matches.  Hastings moved to 9-8 overall and 5-0 in GPAC play, with the win. 

Junior Cole Egger (Galva, Iowa) and sophomore Nathan Wingfield (Greendale, Wis.) pushed their respective opponents to a third set tiebreaker before eventually succombing.  At the third singles position, Wingfield took the first set from Seton Bachle 7-6 (4), but stumbled as the match went on, falling 6-7 (4-7), 6-0, 1-0 (10-4).

By contrast, Eggar dropped set one and rallied to force a tiebreaker against Joe Ritzdorf, 6-1, 6-7 (7-9), 1-0 (10-6).

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, April 27 as Concordia hosts Midland University at 3:30 p.m.
