Eights Bulldogs recognized as Scholar-Athletes by ITA

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Men’s Tennis program and eight of its team members were honored on Thursday (July 14) by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The organization recognized Head Coach Cam Long’s Bulldogs as an All-Academic Team for 2021-22 while eight individuals were lauded with ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades.

2022 ITA Scholar-Athletes:

·        Jeremiah Berryman (Broken Arrow, Okla.)

·        Joe Bindl (Papillion, Neb.)

·        Luke Johnson (Kansas City, Kan.)

·        Jack Kitson (Omaha, Neb.)

·        Eduardo Luzzi (Belo Horizonte, Brazil)

·        Juan Rabellino (La Barra, Uruguay)

·        Manuel Rodriguez (Jerez de la Frontera, Spain)

·        Shawn Springer (Aurora, Colo.)

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

·        Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

·        Be listed on the institutional eligibility form.


To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

·        Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).

·        All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

·        All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
