Moreno, Poling recognized by GPAC

SEWARD, Neb. – Senior Javier Moreno and sophomore Gabe Poling highlighted the Thursday’s (May 11) all-conference announcement from the perspective of Concordia University men’s tennis. The No. 2 doubles combo of Moreno and Poling landed on the All-GPAC listing while Poling garnered honorable mention for his performance in singles.

As a tandem, Moreno and Poling dropped just one match during GPAC play. Overall this season, they combined to go 12-4 at the No. 2 doubles position. A native of Chillicothe, Mo., Poling posted a singles record of 16-3 (12-3 at No. 4), including a mark of 4-1 in conference regular-season matches. Moreno, who hails from Morelia, Mexico, recorded a singles record of 9-8 while splitting time between the Nos. 2 and 3 spots.

Poling was also an All-GPAC singles selection in 2016. Moreno has now collected all-conference recognition a total of three times in his Concordia career. He raked in GPAC honors for doubles in 2016 and was honorable mention in singles and doubles as a freshman in 2014.
