Pardos still undefeated in conference; Warriors top Bulldogs

FREMONT, Neb. – The Concordia men’s tennis team suffered another close GPAC defeat Friday afternoon. Midland University defeated Concordia 5-4. The Bulldogs drop to 7-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference. The Warriors are now 14-8 and 2-1 in the GPAC.

Head coach Joel Reckewey said, “The men fought hard but came up a match short. We had our chances in a few matches but we just didn’t capitalize.”

The duo of Willy Pardos and Javier Moreno are an undefeated 4-0 in conference doubles play. The pair won their match 8-3 at the No. 1 position.

Pardos is also a perfect 4-0 in the GPAC after sweeping his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot. At the No. 3 position, Moreno was also victorious, topping his foe in three sets 6-2, 6-7, 14-12. Gabriel Poling found his third individual victory today. Poling played at the No. 5 position and won 6-0, 6-4.

The Bulldogs will return to action Wednesday, April 20 as they travel to the University of Nebraska-Kearney. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
