2023 CSC Men’s Tennis Academic All-District
SEWARD, Neb. – In recognition of their work in the classroom and on the courts, Juan Rabellino and Manuel Rodriguez have been named to the 2023 Academic All-District® Men’s Tennis Teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) and announced on Tuesday (May 9). Both Concordia University student-athletes have received this recognition for the first time. Following the 2021-22 academic year, former Bulldog Joe Bindl was honored as both an Academic All-District and Academic All-American.
The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in order to be nominated for this award. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Also announced on May 9, Rodriguez and Rabellino were named to the 2023 GPAC All-Conference tennis teams. A native of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Rodriguez paced the Bulldogs in singles wins this past season while posting a 14-5 overall record (4-2 GPAC). Rodriguez is studying Mathematics and Physics and is also a member of the Concordia Men’s Soccer program. As for Rabellino, he concluded his collegiate career in 2022-23 and was named Honorable Mention All-GPAC in both singles and doubles. Rabellino studied Computer Science and is on track to become a three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete. Rabellino recorded 22 singles wins in his career with the Bulldogs.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 1.
