2021-22 Concordia Men’s Tennis Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University Men’s Tennis has released its schedule for the spring semester of 2022. The Bulldogs will jumpstart the 2021-22 campaign on Feb. 19 by hosting NCAA Division III Colorado College. The spring schedule for Head Coach Cam Long’s squad is slated to feature 19 regular season matches, including six against GPAC opponents.
During the more abbreviated fall portion of the schedule, Concordia competed in the GPAC Individual Tournament and the ITA Central Regional Championships while also going 0-2 in dual action. The Bulldogs went up against strong foes in Iowa Central Community College and William Jewell College (Mo.).
Both the men’s and women’s programs will venture south for spring break and play in the states of Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Concordia will get another shot at William Jewell (NCAA Division II) but will play mostly NAIA foes for nonconference action. The NAIA opposition will include the likes of Bethany College (Kan.), Bethel College (Kan.), Grand View University (Iowa), Kansas Wesleyan University, Missouri Valley College, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Ottawa University (Kan.), Southwestern College (Kan.) and Sterling College (Kan.).
The GPAC tournament will take place at Fremont High School in Fremont, Neb., April 29-30. The NAIA National Championships are set to be staged in Mobile, Ala., May 17-21.
The Bulldog men’s program is coming off a 2020-21 season that saw it go 5-1 in conference play and reach the GPAC tournament championship match for the first time ever. Long’s squad returns five players that earned some form of all-conference recognition last season: Jeremiah Berryman, Joe Bindl, Isaac Howes, Gregor Lanier and Eduardo Rojas.
