Tennis teams fall at Bethel
NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Both Bulldog tennis teams dropped nonconference matches to host Bethel College in North Newton, Kan., on Tuesday. The Concordia men fell, 8-1, and the women were defeated, 9-0, at the hands of the Threshers.
The loss snapped a five-match win streak for the Bulldog men. Their only win on the afternoon came at No. 3 doubles where the pair of senior Mike McCartney and junior Jonathan Douglas won 8-4.
Meanwhile, senior Katelyn Koll, the GPAC player of the week, lost her own personal five-match win streak when she dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Bree Honer at No. 1 singles. That match was part a dominant display from Bethel, who did not lose a single set.
The Concordia men return to action Friday and Saturday for the Concordia Invitational in St. Louis, Mo.
