SEWARD, Neb. – The GPAC office announced this week’s Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Josh Slechta was named the male field athlete of the week while Trevor Bresson was named the male track athlete.

Slechta finished the Jim Dutcher Memorial with one title and two runner-up finishes last weekend. He reached a personal best 178’ 5” in the discus for first place. The mark hold second place in the NAIA this season. In the hammer throw, the Kennard, Neb., native heaved a personal best 195’. Both throws in the discus and hammer throw were national qualifying marks.

Bresson turned in a second-best GPAC time in the 400 meter hurdles at the Jim Dutcher Memorial last Saturday for first place. The time of 55.61 is just over one second over his personal best time in the event.

This is the first career weekly conference honor for both Slechta and Bresson. Concordia’s 2016 outdoor season total for GPAC Athletes of the Week is now up to four.

The Bulldog track and field team will compete in the Drake Relays this week. The four-day event begins Wednesday and will run until this Saturday.
