SEWARD, Neb. – The GPAC office announced Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Wednesday. From Concordia, Stephanie Coley received the Hauff Mid America Sports/GPAC Field Athlete of the Week. This is the senior’s second weekly honor in her career.
Coley broke her own school record in the shot put at the Concordia Classic last weekend. The hurl of 47-07.75 leads the NAIA, is an automatic national qualifying mark and got her first place at the meet. The Gering, Neb. native also placed fourth in the weight throw with another national qualifying throw of 55-10.50 which is seventh in the NAIA.
This is Coley’s second weekly honor. The senior was first recognized for a weekly conference award last season. Coley is a six-time All-American.
Coley is added to the list of student-athletes that have received GPAC weekly honors this season already. Cody Boellstorff and CJ Muller were also honored this week on the men’s side. In week one, Muller was honored along with Jose Rojas, Kim Wood and Kali Robb. Zach Lurz received the weekly accolades in week two.
The fourth ranked Concordia women’s track & field team will return to action this weekend as it travels to the Sevigne Husker Invite in Lincoln and the Fred Beile Classic in Crete, Neb.
