McCarter snares second GPAC weekly award this season

SEWARD, Neb. – Twice this season Adysen McCarter has broken the school triple jump record. Now twice this season she has also been recognized as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. The latest award was announced on Wednesday (Jan. 28) by the league office. Concordia University, Nebraska Track & Field athletes have combined for four GPAC athlete of the week awards so far this 2025-26 indoor season.

A sophomore from Overton, Neb., McCarter won the triple jump competition at last week’s Concordia Polar Dog Invite after landing at 39’ 1 ¼,” an improvement upon her previous program standard. Currently, McCarter leads the GPAC while ranking fifth nationally in the event. She also owns the school record in the outdoor triple jump. In addition, McCarter ran the 200 meters in 26.38 at the Polar Dog Invite (fourth place). The Overton High School alum qualified for nationals as a freshman in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump. McCarter is a Pre-Chiropractic major.

McCarter and her teammates will return to action at this weekend's Concordia Classic on Friday and Saturday. The meet schedule can be found HERE.
