SEWARD, Neb. – On Wednesday, the GPAC office announced the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the week. Cody Boellstorff took the field events honor and CJ Muller, for the second time this season, was named the track athlete of the week.
Boellstorff was named the conference field athlete of the week after crushing his own school record in the weight throw with a national qualifying mark of 65-11.50 at the Concordia Classic. The throw leads the NAIA by more than four and a half feet. The Waverly native, a four-time All-American has been named the outdoor athlete of the week once last season. The Omaha native was honored once this season already after winning the 200 and 600 meters at the Nisely Classic in January.
Muller and Boellstorff are added to the list of student-athletes that have received GPAC weekly honors this season already. Stephanie Coley was recognized on the women’s side this week. In week one, Muller was honored along with Jose Rojas, Kim Wood and Kali Robb. Zach Lurz received the weekly accolades in week two.
