2021-22 Concordia Indoor T&F Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – A new season of Concordia University Track & Field will again get started in the month of the December. The program announced the full 2021-22 indoor schedule on Thursday (June 24). The regular season will feature eight total meets, including four that will take place inside the confines of the Walz Fieldhouse. The campaign will kick off with the Bulldog Early Bird Meet on Dec. 10-11.
Head Coach Matt Beisel’s squads are fresh off the 2021 outdoor season. This past year, the women’s program swept GPAC indoor and outdoor titles while the men’s team turned in GPAC place finishes of third for indoor and fourth for outdoor. Four individual Bulldogs claimed at least one NAIA national title in 2021: Rachel Battershell (400 meters), Jacob Cornelio (hammer throw), Josie Puelz (indoor/outdoor pole vault) and Elizabeth Stottlemyre (javelin). Those championships helped pave the way for the Concordia women to place third nationally at the NAIA indoor and outdoor meets.
The lineup of meets looks identical to seasons prior to the unusual 2021 campaign. In addition to four home meets, the Bulldogs will compete at two meets hosted by Doane (Scott Nisely Memorial Classic and Fred Beile Classic) and two hosted by the University of Nebraska (Graduate Classic and Husker Invitational). Concordia hopes to return to a normal policy this coming winter in terms of allowing spectators to attend meets.
Doane will also serve as the host for the 2022 GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which are scheduled for Feb. 18-19. After behind held in Yankton, S.D., this past season, the NAIA indoor national meet will return to Brookings, S.D., in 2022. The dates for the meet are March 3-5.
