SEWARD, Neb. – Head Coach Matt Beisel has kept a majority of the same schedule for the 2024 Concordia University, Nebraska track and field schedule that has now been released. The Bulldog slate has started with Grand View University Viking Relays in two of the last three years and on Mar. 23, this season, will make it four consecutive years they have participated in the meet.
Last outdoor season, Concordia vaulted to GPAC finishes of first for the women and third for the men. Having won four straight GPAC outdoor championships (2019-2023, *Outdoor canceled in 2020), the Bulldog women will seek to assert their dominance once again on their conference foes. Surprisingly, under coach Beisel, the men’s best finish was in his first year as front man in 2017. The men will look to change the trend of just missing the top spot in 2024.
After the opening meet, the Dawgs will participate in away competitions such as Central College Dutch Invite (Mar. 28), Jim Dutcher Invite (Apr. 18-20), Rock Chalk Classic (Apr. 27) and UNK Loper Twilight Meet (May 11).
CUNE will host two meets including an early Concordia Invitational (Apr. 5-6) and a post-GPAC championships Concordia Twilight Meet (May 10).
The Great Plains Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held at Northwestern College on May 3-4. The championship will be held for the first time in Orange City, Iowa since the 2011 season. Northwestern was scheduled to host the conference meet in 2020 but was canceled due to Covid-19. It will be held at the same venue as the 2011 competition, De Valois Stadium.
The NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will take place in Marion, Ind. for the second-straight year. Indiana Wesleyan University will serve as the host for the final time in 2025, ending a contract that has not yet been set for a venue past the next two meets.
