Concordia track and field has garnered both GPAC field athlete of the week awards. Cody Boellstorff and Allie Brooks are winners this week after producing NAIA leading marks at last week's Wildcat Classic.
Cody Boellstorff unleashed another hammer throw of greater than 200 feet while starring at the Wildcat Classic on Sunday. Sydney Meyer also turned in an automatic national qualifying mark in the hammer throw.
Allie Brooks etched her name atop another all-time school list while breaking the meet pole vault record at the Wildcat Classic. Brooks and four other Bulldog women recorded automatic national qualifying marks.
Coming off two top-10 national finishes, one being a runner-up claim, the Bulldogs hope to carry their momentum into the outdoor season. The Bulldogs are in the midst of an impressive run of national success.

Cody Boellstorff and Lucas Wiechman have claimed individual national titles for the Concordia men's track program, which owns the national lead heading into the final day of the indoor championships in Johnson City.
National qualifying members of the Concordia track and field programs departed from Seward on Monday, bound for Johnson City, Tenn., and the 2017 indoor national championships. The 19 Bulldog qualifiers own 43 combined All-America awards.
Concordia will take 19 athletes to the 2017 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. The group of Bulldog national qualifiers have combined for 42 career All-America awards and five national titles.
A total of 45 Concordia track and field athletes have been named all-conference performers for their efforts at the GPAC indoor championships. Lucas Wiechman has been tabbed GPAC Outstanding Athlete of the Year.

Stephanie Tietjen (maiden name Beberniss) blazed a trail for female pole vaulters at Concordia. She was utterly dominant in 2003, winning national and GPAC titles in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault.
It would be difficult to find an athlete with a more impressive résumé than senior Zach Lurz. Says Lurz, "I’m sure I’ll look back in five years and think that this was amazing." Lurz has four national titles to his credit.
