SEWARD, Neb. – Facilitator of an attack that has sizzled in the early going, junior Tara Callahan picked up some well-earned recognition on Tuesday (Sept. 3). The conference has named Callahan the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter of the Week. The announcement marks the second time in Callahan’s career that she has earned the award. She collected the same weekly honor on Oct. 24, 2017.

A native of Brady, Neb., Callahan played a starring role while helping Concordia to a 3-0 record at the Bulldog Bash last week. Over the 10 sets played at the event, Callahan piled up 122 assists (led all players at the Bulldog Bash) while spurring an offense that hit .318 for the weekend. She added 19 digs and eight kills over the three wins. On the season, Callahan ranks No. 3 among all NAIA players in assists per set (11.77). She is a two-time honorable mention All-GPAC choice.

The Bulldogs are off to a 7-0 start with their first GPAC match coming up Wednesday when No. 14 Hastings (2-5) will be the opponent for a 7:30 p.m. CT clash. As a team, Concordia sports national rankings of first in kills per set (15.0) and second in hitting percentage (.319).
