Concordia falls in opening round of GPAC Tournament, 3-0
Morningside College earned a 3-0 volleyball sweep over Concordia in the opening round of the GPAC Tournament on Saturday evening in Sioux City. Scores were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-23. The Mustangs improved to 17-15 on the year with the win. Concordia ended its season at 11-21. Concordia dropped its final nine matches of the season.
Liz Sutherland had a match-high 11 kills to pace Morningside offensively. Riley Callan added 10 kills on the night, and Monica Iverson had 30 set assists. Darcy Christensen had a team-high eight digs for the Mustangs defensively.
Amanda Kisker (Lincoln, Neb.) finished with a team-high nine kills for Concordia. Sloan Brandon (Carrollton, Texas) had eight kills and a team-best 11 digs, while Chelsea Vaudt (Kalispell, Mont.) also delivered eight kills on the night. Kaylie Mellema (Axtell, Neb.) and Alexa Hopping (Sutherland, Neb.) had 15 and 14 assists, respectively, for the Bulldogs.
