Concordia wins third straight, 3-1, over College of St. Mary
Concordia University defeated the College of St. Mary by the score of 3-1 on Wednesday evening in Omaha. Scores of the match were 25-20, 25-21, 21-25 and 25-21. It’s the third straight win for the Bulldogs, who are now 4-2 on the season. The Flames dropped to 2-1 on the year with the loss.
Senior Chelsea Vaudt led the way offensively for the Bulldogs in the win. Vaudt pounded 14 kills and added four assisted blocks on the evening. Amanda Kisker added 12 kills, while Sloan Brandon had a double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs on the night. Alex Szalawiga also finished with 15 digs for the Bulldogs. Kaylie Mellema handed out 24 set assists, while Alexa Hopping chipped in with 16 assists and three aces.
Concordia will take part in the Bellevue University Labor Day Classic Tournament on September 3 and 4. The Bulldogs return home to host Morningside College on September 7 to open play in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
