Vaudt, Brandon, Hopping earn GPAC recognition
The 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Volleyball honors were released on Wednesday. The GPAC All-Conference teams were selected by the league coaches. Concordia’s Chelsea Vaudt is a Second Team selection, while Sloan Brandon and Alexa Hopping are Honorable Mention selections.
Vaudt (Kalispell, Mont.), led Concordia with 292 kills (2.56 per set) and 113 blocks (.99 per set). Vaudt was sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.313) and 14th in kills. Chelsea finished with 799 kills and 363 blocks during her Bulldog career.
Brandon (Carrollton, Texas) had a strong sophomore season for the Bulldogs. She was first on the team with 325 digs (2.85 per set), first in aces (42) and second in kills with 229 (2.01 per set).
Hopping (Sutherland, Neb.) handed out a team-best 547 set assists in her first year with the Bulldogs. She was fourth on the team with 162 digs and added 27 ace serves on the year.
Concordia was 11-21 overall and 1-15 in GPAC play during the 2010 season.
