The results have been cruel lately for the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs, who fell in another five-setter on Saturday (Oct. 9). No. 18 Dordt eked it out over Concordia in a match that saw the two sides post nearly identical hitting percentages.
Yet another five-setter resulted in celebration for the opposition. The 23rd-ranked Bulldogs were clipped by Doane in Crete on Wednesday (Oct. 6) while being led by 17 kills apiece from Erica Heinzerling and Camryn Opfer.
The 23rd-ranked Bulldogs will return to action this week by playing at Doane on Wednesday before hosting No. 18 Dordt on Saturday. Concordia (9-7, 4-4 GPAC) had this past weekend off.
Concordia is still looking for its first five-set win of the season after falling in another match that went the distance on Wednesday (Sept. 29) at No. 3 Midland. The Bulldogs despite advantages in hitting percentage and kills.
After coming within an eyelash of extending their win streak to six, the Bulldogs are prepping for a short road trip to No. 1 Midland on Wednesday. The Warriors won in straight sets in Seward earlier this month.
Gabi Nordaker powered down 22 kills and nine blocks while leading the 19th-ranked Bulldogs on Saturday (Sept. 25). They came up short in a five-set defeat versus. No. 17 College of Saint Mary.
The win streak grew to five as the 19th-ranked Bulldogs hit a smoldering .360 on Wednesday (Sept. 22) while taking care of Mount Marty in straight sets. Erica Heinzerling and Carly Rodaway notched 11 kills apiece.
Two-time First Team All-GPAC honoree Tara Callahan has earned the eighth GPAC Setter of the Week award of her career. Callahan helped lead the 19th-ranked Bulldogs to wins last week over Doane and Hastings.
Concordia Volleyball carries a four-match win streak into a week that will put the Bulldogs up against Mount Marty and No. 17 College of Saint Mary. Concordia has already played seven matches against top 25 opponents.
The 19th-ranked Bulldogs completed a 2-0 week while blistering Hastings in straight sets on the road on Saturday (Sept. 18). Concordia (8-5, 3-2 GPAC) hit .363 led by 11 kills from Camryn Opfer.
