By the numbers

·       Head Coach Drew Olson and company hasn’t seen back to back regular season conference defeats since the final two games of the 2022-23 season. With the two outings added, the squad has totaled a 5-4 record (3-3 GPAC). In the games versus the Mustangs and Chargers, Concordia averaged a .337 (33-for-98) shooting percentage and a .273 (9-for-33) from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs have averaged an 85.2 free throw percentage (23-for-27), while their opponents have a .700 (14-for-20). Usually dominant in the turnover margin, they have edged their opponent with one less turnover in the two games. After Morningside shot a lifeless 18.2 percent from three in the first matchup, the Mustangs shot 56.3 in the second contest. That and an 11-0 second quarter run defined the 40 minutes in Sioux City. In a game where points were hard to come by, Briar Cliff made its own 11-0 scoring drive in the fourth frame to steal a win on the road. The double-digit losses provide a gut check and an opportunity to bounce back in the final three games of 2024.

·       Krieser is as important to the team’s success as anybody, and her play earned the latest GPAC Defensive Player of the Week for her prowess from Nov. 18-24. She claimed the award for the second time in her career. In the last five outings, Krieser swiped three steals against CSM, Dordt and Morningside while taking a season high (five) versus Midland. The Lincoln North Star product tied her single game career high steals (five) against the Warriors after taking the same number from Concordia University Chicago in her sophomore campaign (2022-23). In 92 career games, she has amassed 753 points, 276 rebounds, 140 steals and 117 assists.

Inviting Waldorf into the GPAC, the Bulldogs haven’t played the Warriors since the 2008-09 season in the Cattle Classic defeating the visitors 80-53.
