Last time out
Shooting from the 3-point range was one of the No. 9 Concordia women’s basketball team’s strengths in a 92-37 triumph over the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves. Eight different Bulldogs combined for 16 total 3-pointers on the night.

After putting on an offensive display in the third quarter, the well ran dry in the final stanza for the ninth-ranked Concordia University women’s basketball team. Cold fourth-quarter shooting contributed to Saturday afternoon’s 73-66 loss at No. 16 Dakota Wesleyan. The Bulldogs had hoped to emerge from The Corn Palace with their third win of the season over a ranked opponent.

In the rankings
For the 53rd straight poll (dating back to the 2011-12 preseason poll), the Concordia women’s basketball team was ranked in the top-25 in the 2015-16 NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll. It was the eighth straight preseason ranking that the Bulldogs received. Since the start of the 2011-12 season, Concordia has been ranked inside the top 10 in all but two polls, including 31 top-five appearances. After the Dec. 1 coaches’ poll, the Bulldogs extended that streak to 54 consecutive top-25 rankings when the squad checked in at ninth.

Quotable
“I’m proud of how selfless they played today. They really shared the ball and moved the ball really well which gave us so much more open looks than we’ve had in the last few games. Obviously when the ball goes in, we get more and more confident and I felt that opened up the game.”
-Head coach Drew Olson

“Coach really talked to us about passing, I just got a lot of good passes from my teammates. That game (at Doane) gave us a lot of momentum. Coach talks about one game at a time, focus on the present.”
-Junior Aubri Bro
