An accomplished senior class heads into its final week of regular-season action. The Bulldogs will host Doane on Wednesday and Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday while looking to lock up an outright GPAC title.
Thanks to Saturday's (Feb. 10) win at 15th-ranked Morningside, Concordia can do no worse than share the GPAC regular-season title. The Bulldogs (27-1, 17-1) topped the Mustangs, 88-80, in Sioux City.
Brenleigh Daum and Mary Janovich put on a shooting display and the Bulldog got loose in transition while running away from Briar Cliff, 106-67, on Wednesday night (Feb. 7). Daum poured in 21 points.
Two trips to Sioux City are coming up this week for Concordia women's basketball, which owns a two-game lead atop the GPAC standings. The Bulldogs are looking to secure their fifth all-time GPAC regular-season title.
There was no panic in the top-ranked Concordia women's basketball team after its surprising loss on Wednesday. The Bulldogs regrouped with an 80-67 win over No. 10 Northwestern on Saturday (Feb. 3).
The unbeaten season fell by the wayside in a stunning loss at Midland on Wednesday night (Jan. 31). The top-ranked Bulldogs fell to the Warriors, 86-77, in Fremont. Taylor Cockerill and Mary Janovich had 15 points apiece.
Fresh off a CIT championship, the top-ranked Bulldogs now look to get closer to locking up another title. GPAC play resumes this week with a trip to Midland and then a visit from 10th-ranked Northwestern.
It was no contest. By the time the event concluded, the top-ranked Bulldogs had clearly established themselves their supremacy among the Concordias. The Bulldogs are CIT champs for the 28th time.
Dani Hoppes shot ridiculously well from 3-point range and the Bulldog pressure wore out Concordia-Ann Arbor on day one of CIT. CUNE rolled to a 104-66 win and is set to play for its 28th all-time CIT title.
Top-ranked Concordia passed another challenging test on Wednesday (Jan. 24), defeating No. 11 Hastings on the road. Mary Janovich (18 points, four steals) helped keep the Bulldogs undefeated at 22-0.
