Just four days after ending the regular season at the Corn Palace, the Bulldogs will return to the same location for the GPAC quarterfinals. Concordia has advanced to the GPAC tournament final in each of the past five seasons.
The Bulldogs dug an early 15-point hole and later rallied to take the lead before falling at Dakota Wesleyan, 71-67, in Saturday (Feb. 19)'s regular season finale. Rylee Pauli equaled a career high with 20 points.
It was a happy senior night for the Bulldogs, who smothered Briar Cliff in a 62-43 win inside Friedrich Arena on Wednesday (Feb. 16). Concordia limited the Chargers to 22 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers.
A shot at a top four seed in the GPAC will be on the line during the final week of the regular season. The Bulldogs will host their senior night on Wednesday when Briar Cliff will be in town and then travel to Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday.
Taysha Rushton and Kendal Brigham combined to net 10 of Concordia's 14 treys in a 98-73 rout at College of Saint Mary on Saturday (Feb. 12). The Bulldogs also forced 23 more turnovers and moved to 15-11 overall (12-8 GPAC).
Down 13 in the second half, the Bulldogs dusted off the full-court press and terrorized Doane to the tune of 28 turnovers. The pressure, coupled with a huge second half by Kendal Brigham, paved the way to a 74-63 Concordia win.
Looking to make a push down the stretch of the regular season, the Bulldogs will stay in-state for road trips to Doane and College of Saint Mary this week. Concordia is currently tied for sixth in the GPAC with a 10-8 league mark.
In a contest that went wire-to-wire, Ashtyn Veerbeek and Dordt made the plays in crunch time to pull it out, 76-69, over the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs. Taysha Rushton (20) and Sadie Powell (19) paced Concordia in the scoring department.
Led by the flurry out of the gate from Taysha Rushton, the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs regained their confidence with a 101-57 blowout win at Midland on Wednesday (Feb. 2). Rushton piled up 31 points in spurring the season high outburst.
Following a weekend to refresh and refocus, the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs are gearing up to play at Midland on Wednesday and host red hot Dordt on Saturday. Concordia is aiming to get back into the W column after four-straight defeats.
