SEWARD, Neb. – On Tuesday, the GPAC office announced this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Golfer of the Week as Concordia’s Amy Ahlers. This is the junior’s fifth weekly conference honor in her career.
The award came after Ahlers placed first at the College of Saint Mary Invitational last Friday. Ahlers shot a 79 to win her sixth career title and fifth top-five finish of the season. The individual victory also aided the Bulldogs to a first-place finish as a team. It was the first tournament title for Concordia under the helm of coach Brett Muller.
Ahlers and the Bulldogs will be back in action Wednesday for the GPAC Qualifier No. 3. The tournament will be at Concordia’s home course, Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln. Individually, Ahlers is in sixth place (84-82—166) while the team is in fifth (354-348—702).
